03 A job done properly

How to place a split unit so it lasts and stays out of the way

  1. 15–20 cm below the ceiling. The unit draws air well and can be cleaned without taking it down.
  2. Pipe and cable inside the wall. No trunking on show and no dangling cables.
  3. Airflow along the length of the room. From the short wall, the air crosses the whole room before it drops.
  4. Blinds on sunny windows. Every ray that gets in is heat the unit has to pump back out.
